A Food Crawl in the East Village of New York City

When you're looking for something fun to do on a weekend during the day, a food crawl is a great idea to take up some of your time. A food crawl is basically like a pub crawl if you're familiar with that term. You go around to a bunch of places and try all different types of food. You can pretty much do this anywhere, but here are a few ideas for doing a food crawl in the East Village of New York City.

Start out on East Seventh Street at First Avenue and go to Caracas Take-Out. There's the Arepa Bar also, but since you'll only be eating quickly and moving on, you'll want to order a couple of arepas from the Take-Out section of the restaurant and keep walking down the street. However many people you're with, order that many arepas and share them so everyone can taste a little bit of each. Next, walk down the block towards Avenue A and stop in at Porchetta for their infamous porchetta sandwich. The menu is limited and they pretty much focus on their signature dish.

Afterwards, you're going to want to head a few blocks up to Motorino, the new Brooklyn transplant, on Twelfth Street between First and Second Avenue. All of the pizzas here are delicious and the crust is definitely the best part. You hopefully have some room left because you have one more stop to finish off the crawl. That's right, the new burger joint on St. Marks Street called Mark. Order at least one slider, which comes with cheese and grilled onions. Try all of the different sauces they offer and decide which is your favorite.

When you're finished, you'll be guaranteed to be both full and content that you completed a very tasty day of eating and walking around a great area in Manhattan. Enjoy!
